Ultrasound

This is a therapeutic treatment using high frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries.

Ultrasound works by using sound vibrations as fast as a million times per second. These vibrations penetrate the tissues deep in the body, creating a heat response. This then helps to break down and disperse unhealthy calcium and other hard tissue accumulations.

The rise in temperature also increases blood flow, relaxes muscle spasms, massages damaged tissues and speeds the overall healing process. Gel is used to conduct the sound waves, and is kept at room temperature. This gel may feel cool at first, but then warms to skin temperature. Most patients feel nothing, or a pleasant and relaxing sensation below the surface of the skin
